re: When did I ever say that I was a "good Christian"? If anything, "good Christian" is technically an oxymoron ...

What a cop out... is that what you think about Christianity? Because you are stained with original sin you can support the Bush war and always be forgiven for the killing? That you accept Christ as saviour and you can be Dahmer or Hitler or Bush and go to heaven?

I know some Christians that are among the very best folks on this planet; they have given up everything to help others, and they are not concerned a whit about politics. They live the ten commandments every single day. They live what Jesus taught.

Are you one of those Christians that think you get a free pass because you accept Jesus as savior, regardless of your behaviour? You accept that on "faith".

I'll tell you what I think. I think Jesus taught a moral lesson in the hope that people would help each other and not hurt each other. Damn simple. I think some folks that came after Jesus invented the "accept Jesus as your saviour and you are saved" as an easy recruiting tool... to get the low hanging fruit to join up and throw a few coins into the pot.

So, IMHO, I wouldn't be so smug. I look at you and a lot of "Christian" folks on this thread and elsewhere and I see the antithesis of what Christ taught, I see the anti-Christ.

Maybe I'm right, and maybe the redneck sinning war mongering intolerant evangelists are right. I guess we'll all know in the end but it might be a good strategy to hedge your bet.
