For those who really want to learn and understand everything about the background of suicide attacks in general and in the Middle East in particular, here is a link to the ultimate document.
Kind of interesting to notice that when Fusake Shigenobu (in Beirut AKA "Samira since 1971) initiated the first suicide terrorist attack 30.5.1972 on Lod Airport, Tel Aviv, she pronounced her late husband, who just killed himself in the process a "true Kamikaze in the spirit of the Samurais".
