Japanese culture is hard to comprehend. My husband and sons are really into Japanese culture, but other than samurai movies and miso soup, it's too weird for me. Tentacle porn? Men dressed up in school girl uniforms? Eeeeek! But the desire for humanoid robots is bizarre. Robots, sure. I'd love to have a robot vacuum the rug and mow the lawn, and the thought of a nice quiet robot wheeling into my hospital room to take my temperature seems quite all right. But don't make them humanoid!
