On CNBC, an analyst mentioned APPX regarding public companies with Nano related cancer fighting drug delivery systems. His comments were made to expand on an earlier CNBC interview with Ram Sasisekharan of MIT regarding their "in development" new smart bomb for cancer. (see bottom of post)

Ram Sasisekharan: Complex Sugars Complicate Biology --- Cell's Microenvironment Key to Cell Behavior

See, Novel Drug Delivery Systems Impacting Cancer Research, at the bottom of the webpage.

...."In addition to improving existing drugs, Sasisekharan also investigates possible prostate cancer treatments from novel combination therapy drug delivery systems. His studies show that sugars found on both normal and malignant cells determine if the cells remain dormant or if they respond to growth signals and start dividing. Using two off-the-shelf drugs, Sasisekharan's group developed a dual compartment delivery device called a nanocell. The inner core houses a chemotherapeutic drug, the outer core an anti-angiogenesis drug, and the result works something like a smart bomb to carefully orchestrate the release time of the two compartments. Such delivery helps the chemotherapeutic drug target cancer cells, not healthy cells. Animal testing showed that controlled release of drugs had a dramatic impact in survival outcomes, and Sasisekharan is also investigating combination therapy as a treatment for stroke."....
