"Pakistan stinks, and Musharraf supposedly runs the place."

Pakistan's existence is based on the decision of it's population to establish a Sharia form of government rather than to remain in the diverse Indian society.

Since its conception there has been one overthrow after another and the current system is rule by a Military Dictator (Musharaf) who started by suspending the Constitution.

Musharaf can only 'run the place' to the extent that he can impose Marshal rule. There is a certain large segment of the population that are bound to support his rule for the economic stability it offers them or out of loyalty to his imposed form of order.

Where individuals are not motivated by obedience to Marshal law there is civil strife and dissention. That is actually a huge problem and is not identifiable by a uniform.

Yes. It stinks but Musharaf is not a Taliban type of guy, he is a different kind of stinker.
