<<It took more than just plain luck. You had the foresight to understand that networking is an institution, not a fad. That is, you saw depressed stocks as an opportunity rather than a "serious" warning sign. Then you had the courage to act.>>

Thanks, Stu. Of course I also have 28 years of Data Processing
experience (including 14 in management) and 3+ years of networking
experience, including a Novell CNE designation that helped in the
decision making process.

Courage to act? Definitely. It took a lot of convincing my alter-ego
that I was right and everyone else was wrong. But, the Internet WILL
get built, expanded, speeded up, rebuilt, etc., and these are some
of the fastest growing companies around. I drink Coke but I don't buy
the stock.

<<I've noticed people asking Dan for more gems, and I would like to mention three I
have in mind: ASND, FORE, and XYLN.>>

Stu, ASND WILL double in the next year, IMO, but it is definitely not
for the faint of heart. Now is a great time, but don't get in unless
you really know the facts (several thousand posts, I'm afraid).
This stock has and will continue to give you whiplash.

I got into FORE at $11.25, so I'm heading for a double now. Buyout
rumors been swirling for months (including now). ATM is an excellent
technology and FORE's ATM is cutting edge, but, again you need
to know much more about it at this point.

I don't know anything about XYLN.
