Dean makes statements like that because he and
his cohorts believe that their constituency is stupid
and will believe their statements without critical assessment.

This is ironic given the blue staters' insistence on
their intellectual superiority.

So what do you get when you mix political arrogance with
snooty pseudo-intellectualism?

A Blue By-You....(i.e., unfounded statements, the fallacy of
which blow right by their intended audience.)
