"US Congress approves free trade agreement with Middle America"

President Bush prevails against the sugar lobby and gets "Cafta" approved.

Above got some big headlines in Süddeutsche Zeitung, Munich. One of the better daily newspapers in Europe, albeit somewhat too liberal IMO.

Here is what I just don't understand: How come that our liberals can not spill just one word on work well done by Bush? This is great stuff and quite interesting indeed: Most of the dems voted against this deal!!
Driven by their local lobbies and the unions with their ultra conservative and extremely short term policies, the dems did their best to "protect US jobs" and thus keep the poor Americans south of the Mexican boarder job- and pennyless.

So our libs on this thread prefer staying loyal to their congress men - and mum. What a club!

This should be a debating case for any progressive person and since our libs are the only progressive and nation building people out there, how come you ignore this great event?

"The rest is silence", right?
