In June, my mother and daughter were seated in first class because they had been given the wrong tickets and didn't notice it. Neither did any of the screeners. They went through at least half a dozen security check points, and she said many of the screeners could barely speak English. After the brouhaha was resolved and they were properly seated, she went through her purse and found a corkscrew that she had forgotten about.

I often think the screeners choose their targets by the prospect of least amount of trouble. They are always going through my mother in law's stuff at the check points, but they never check my brother in law. MIL is 86. BIL is 55 but looks 45.

I always get checked, and I do not fit the profile of any terrorist in the world.
