It's hopeless, bush can never win Iraq. No matter what happens with the US at some point we'll be tied up in a war with China over the Spratley Islands or Taiwan or some other place between China and Iran's oil & gas and then the Kurds will declare independence and the Sunnis will be fighting the Shites. Will we help Turkey when they invade to put down the Kurds?

The interesting thing about The Battle of Algiers was that the French invaders had been there for 130 years. Several generations of Algerians still remembered their culture and their history and that the French were invaders, even though the French made Algeria a province of France. But, the Algerians were second class citizens and did not have the same rights as European colonist settlers. This was a war of nationalism, not muslim vs christian.

In this way Iraq is Arab natives versus the greedy imperialists. The same imperialists that have been arbitrarily drawing mideast borders, backing one faction against another and then stabbing them in the back when their whims changed for a century. The arabs have not forgotten how badly they've been treated, after all they're still telling stories about the glories of Baybars' victories against the evil 11th century Crusaders that invaded their lands, murdered, raped and pillaged.

Not only can we never win a war in Arabia but bush lied and conspired to falsify intelligence data to defraud Congress into going to war on foreign soil. Impeach bush now!!!
