Well, if it is a good idea with merit, if it has an iota of promise, why must the public ..... fund it. I agree strongly with this. And I suspect that the promise of future results from stem cell research is quite large. But why should federal money be used in this research? The drug companies have the profit motivation, and the resources as well, to completely fund this research. There is no reason not to let private enterprise do this without government funding. I think Frist is wrong to support public funding.
