How is your liberty impaired by having a CC video camera in Time's Square or Dupont Circle? They are public places, and there can be no expecation of privacy in such places. I'm not the best one to answer that question, as I prefer security to absolute freedom. But having grown up in the shadow of the Communist East, and having read the usual books about Big Brother, I can understand why many fear it. You surely understand that there is a certain crowd in the USA that hordes guns & ammo and hates the IRS. That crowd will be very resistant to peering eyes that belong to the government. I generally think they are nutcases but perhaps they have a few points. Names like Randy Weaver come to mind. Ever hear of him?
