Stem Cells

By jkelly

I applaud Bill Frist for coming out in favor of the House bill on embryonic stem cell research.

The potential value of embryonic stem cell research is grotesquely overhyped, chiefly to provide money from greedy scientists who have patents. And to create life just to destroy it is an abomination.

But there is some value to embryonic stem cell research, and the House bill would limit it to use of embryos left over from in-vitro fertilization that would be destroyed anyway. President Bush's objections to this limited use is, I think, excessive and ill advised.
