Do you believe it not be appropriate if I form a corporation that buys 250 acres south of town, and that property has water rights attached to it, and my corporation farms the land and uses the water for irrigation purposes? I would be producing high quality products (green peas, for example) that people need, but I (my corporation rather) would be using the water resource for that purpose.

As for population growth in the Southwest, I would only note that I would never choose to live there (Phoenix, for example) primarily because of the issue of water availability.

Now, where did you "hear" the statistic that by 2025 1/3 of the world's water would be under private control?
