Meanwhile, it appears Mugabe got peanuts from China.

So now, with the ball back in his court, we'll see what the "great African liberator", Mbeki, is going to do?

businessday.co.za

>>AS ZIMBABWEAN President Robert Mugabe returned to Harare from China at the weekend almost empty handed, SA’s ability to extract political concessions in return for a loan increased, observers said.

They said that with Mugabe in desperate need of foreign currency to pay for energy, fuel, and essential imports, SA could now put the squeeze on him to deliver his side of the deal, if South African aid is to be forthcoming.<<

I wonder who would even consider making a deal with Mugabe, other than Mbeki, of course?
