There's some ideology to it, too... they want to do it to make a point that they should be able to drill there, despite the protests of environmentalists.

I don't understand. Why do they want to make that point? You think they just want to put down environmentalists for the hell of it?

Do they eventually want to drill in the Grand Canyon for idealogical reasons?
