Cuba and Indonesia Join to Fight Cancer Havana, Aug 1 (AIN) Cuba and Indonesia signed a bilateral cooperation accord in Jakarta to develop and produce a Cuban monoclonal antibody known as 1E10 expected to be very effective to fight cancer. The agreement was signed during the official presentation in Indonesia of the Innogene Kalbiotech company, a subsidiary of Kalbe Farma, one of the major Indonesian enterprises in the biotechnological sector which maintains relations with Cuban scientific institutions. The Cuban 1E10 monoclonal antibody is produced by the island's Molecular Inmunology Center. The agreement implements a cooperation project considered crucial for both the Cuban and the Indonesian biotechnological sectors and which is expected to make way for other important joint actions in that field.
