Annoyed Marine

Austin Bay has a wonderful post from a recent Marine veteran of the war in Iraq, who is not at all pleased with things on the home front:
This is not a war we are losing by any calculus. Indeed
our incredible [if not daily] successes can be seen in
real time with the stories of real people if one has the
will to look beyond the next sensational headline.
As for all this beltway babble these days about
losing/quitting [Ed: in Iraq]. I am one very pissed off
Marine. I would like to hog tie about half of Congress
and dump them off along some Afghan/Paki Pashtun Tribal
Bad Lands cross roads and watch…I bet we might here those
cowards actually begin to sound like Americans - at least
some of them anyway. They need to seriously re-examine
reality. We need leaders who want to fight. Fight like
hell, fight like there is no tomorrow because if you
don’t fight tomorrow may never come. Fight because only a
few years ago 3,000 people died on American Soil and that
can never happen again. Fight because to lose or worse to
quit is simply un-American and frankly anti-American.
Fight because America is a nation of winners not whiners.
Those with no stomach for the road ahead aren’t worthy of
their office. (”That he which hath no stomach to this
fight, Let him depart; his passport shall be made And
crowns for convoy put into his purse: We would not die in
that man’s company That fears his fellowship to die with
us.”)
Read the whole thing.
