Right, MM, but that's what I was talking about.

I was analogizing that using electronic voting machines that don't provide a full audit trail (meaning: no way to verify the totals), don't run on either Open Source code (or otherwise have their OS code subjected to testing by non-partisan organizations, and subject to strict requirements), and that allow external manipulation of the databases are the equivalent of leaving the doors to your house unlocked.

... Sooner or later, someone unwelcome is gonna walk in. It's just human nature, if you don't take reasonable precaution 'ya gotta expect trouble.

(PS --- some of the simplest things are important too... it would be prudent to ban companies with corporate officers who have convictions on their records for VOTE FRAUD from *supplying voting machines* for public elections....)
