After the Iraq/NK invasion/negotiation tragicomedies, Iran has every reason to want the threat of a nuke. Being called an 'axis of evil' by the Bush the UnilateralPreemptor of Nonexistent Threats would make anyone want to have nukes.

Having Israel, bristling with hidden nukes, consider bombing your cities is yet another reason Iran would want to have nukes.

Considering all of the problems that Israel is having within itself, why would Iran want to bomb Israel at this point in time? They could end up being the ultimate victor in the chaos that is Iraq.

I'd think they would want to wait things out, meddle as required, lie as required and see how far they can push it. We'll have to see what kind of a mess Bolton can make of it.
