Indeed, fortunes can change. The Father of one of my friends, the Shah's Treasury Secretary, was executed by the Ayatollas. His Mom, originally from the Netherlands, got remarried to a retired spook from the CIA. Birds of a feather and all that. When my Grandfather was a teenager, he and his Mom, Brother, and Sister went to bed one night as a multi-millionaires and woke up as paupers. Problems at home with the Czar. At least they were paupers that owned their vacation home in West Hollywood free of debt. .
