Proper profiling looks at all of this and prevents us from having to search 100%.

There is nothing in our Constitution that is against proper profiling. There is nothing in our Constitution that supports stupidity. There is nothing in our Constitution that prevents us from doing the right thing.

In fact our Constitution was written to prevent us from doing stupid things. The Constitution was written to prevent us from doing things that are not right. As far as I know the Constitution does not need to be rewritten.

Having said that, my point is against the misuse of profiling that will not do us much good and do harm to many people that the Constitution was set up to protect.

There are people on "fair and balanced TV" getting paid enormous amounts of money to preach self rightous hatred. They preach unchristian Christianity. They want to set aside the Constitution so that they can get immediate gratification to string up "the bad guys". (Besides terrorists, current bad guys could include child molestors, CEO's making too much money, certain skin color, etc). They themselves could be self admitted participants in sexual misconduct. Sorry, I am digressing somewhat.

They want to set aside the foundations of our civilization because "they want to see the bad guys punished" by any means possible.

Our civilization, our religion (mostly Christian in this country), and our Constitution were not set up to serve bad guys. It has proven methods of dealing with bad guys.

There is nothing wrong with proper profiling. And, in my opinion, it would have to be based on some mathematical model - that is free of stupid human emotions.

The problem with profiling now is that it has become code word for a lot of people to vent their anger - a lot of this goes beyond trying to be reasonable about finding the best ways to make our society better and to protect us against the "bad guys". For a lot of these people (by all means not all), it is a way to hide behind their hate and prejudices.
