No, the reaction is the problem. 9/11 caused two wars, the Patriot act (giving up our freedoms), a wedge between NATO members, marginalizing the UN, wider US budget deficits, red alerts, and mass fear. Exactly the reaction bin Laden was trying for... he doesn't care a whit for the people killed in the Twin Towers, one way or another. But if there wasn't a "Global Terrorist Threat" before 9/11, there probably is now. And that's mostly the result of the reaction, not the action itself. John
