LOL Where do I start?

The engineer is recommending weirs spaced out approx every 30 feet, made out of trees held fast with anchoring devices for the bank on our property and the two neighbors down river who have agreed to split the cost 3 ways. If it weren't for them we wouldn't do a thing as we don't have a building in danger and have much more property.

He has also recommended that we attach cables to all existing trees that are near the edge or that have fallen but not let loose to tie them to the bank. The theory is that they will hold up against the bank and divert the water away from the bank.

We would NEVER put in car bodies. It's too beautiful and they would only be taken down river in a flood anyway. Plus the county would have the biggest hissy fit.

We are paying an engineer (who works very closely with the county) to make the decisions that will be best for our situation. It is a Chinook Salmon spawning river and our window for doing anything is closing fast. Sept 1st is the cut off date. I don't think we are going to make it because the county gives the final approval and permits, and you know how that goes.

The only vegetation is cedar, fir, cottonwood, holly, alder ect. It is a very pristine second growth forest that backs up to the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. The county will be keeping a close eye on our activities and we wouldn't want to do anything to displease them. The fines would bankrupt us.
