Reminds me of the caveman who invented the wheel. His buddy scoffed, "It'll never work". Doesn't really matter what consumers now think about Divx. What does matter is what the content providers think. If you are going to watch any Disney, Paramount, Universal or Dreamworks flic on digital tape, you'll need a Divx. My read is that the rest of Hollywood will join Divx too. It's in their self-interest.... C-Cube and the rest of the DVD world got caught napping. Certainly, they all are scrambling now to find a way to fit into this new paradigm. The immediate beneficiary is Zenith Electronics. Somehow, they convinced Circuit City to get first distribution rights leaving every other CE manufacturer out in the cold. The old anaolg ZE is dead. Might pay to check out the new digital ZE....
