this kind of amazing stuff is going on all over this market. I guess this is what a real scrappy tech recovery looks like from the depths of despair- where some companies start to boom and others are left behind, the question is will these laggards catch up to the market or are they declining fundamentally. ADI vs. TXN a classic but also in chips we have BRCM,mxim and friends doing really well, so it looks like everybody is going to rally, and then mvsn comes out with a crappy quarter- these are not in the same business of course, but in the past the chip sector pretty much rallied as a whole.

Software really wierd but encouraging. ITWO, MSTR great numbers. But EPNY, who most think is in the same biz as MSTR is collapsing and tonight has agreed to be acquired for a low price. Other softwares are spotty- checkpoint who you would have THOUGHT would have had a blockbuster qtr declined on their numbers, ADBE not good either. It might come down to size of company where the big guys like ADBE (billions in mkt cap) aren't seeing *enough* traction to have a good quarter yet and the smallers are just getting over the hump with some great deals.

There is another pink sheet stock worth watching btw, PRGN, this is a company once worth over 10 billion just like i2 with a top customer base, same story as I2 and now trying to restructure etc. No action there yet but at some point probably in the next year they will relist and then is a good time to buy.

In the networking area fdry has been on a tear but others including cisco are not moving at all.

And then the piece de resistance- MICROSOFT is actually rallying! WHo'd a thunk that.

I've never seen a recovery as spotty as this but otoh the recession was much worse.
