It has not escaped my attention that the more laws our legislatures, populated mostly by lawyers, enact, the more valuable the services provided by lawyers become. It is becoming a scam which jeopardizes our society founded on the rule of law. The rule of law only works if the citizens respect the law. It does not increase respect for the law when people perceive that the law is not applied uniformly for all segments of society.
