Genetics doesn't run in a straight line, so succession can be a problem. But Lacklan is a smart guy. I'd hate to be in his place with a Dad like Rupert. That can't be fun. Besides being unpleasant, I think Rupert is obsessed with the possibility that China holds the key to future prosperity, ala his Sky Channel venture in China complete with government compliant self-censorship. I think he's actually twisted enough to have re-married a Chinese woman just to give his company an edge with the possibility of succession to a half-Chinese CEO in case that scenario plays out. It sounds like a wild assumption, but I'd put money on it. .
