My bad. Buddy had so many misstatements in those few words
that it appears I misunderstood him on that one point.

The only "Gulf War" I am familiar with (as are most other
folks) was the Gulf War in 1991 (AKA The Persian Gulf War).
Hostilities ended with the signing of the "Gulf War Cease
Fire Agreement".

The 7+ year long Iran/Iraq War is commonly known as the
Iran-Iraq war, which was NOT a "10 year war".

I took his "10 year Gulf War" to mean the Gulf War to remove
Saddam from Kuwait. I figured he included the time of
subsequent presence there to enforce the Gulf War Cease Fire
Agreement in his 10 year assertion.

So yes, I misunderstood his unusual, uncommon phrasing. My
real problem was with his other inaccurate assertions which I
did address in my first reply to Buddy.
