Neil Armstrong, 1969.


U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong, who was born this day in 1930, was the first man to set foot on the Moon, on July 20, 1969. Armstrong explored the Moon for more than two hours that day. He deployed scientific instruments, collected surface samples, and took numerous photographs.
