Daimler Benz developed the A-class series with the double floor sandwich concept as they were intentioned to use fuel-cells since the early stage of development;
in a recent interview a Daimler-Benz manager clearly stated their commitment to the development of fuel-cells instead of traditional electric cars;
IMHO they will try to go to the market with the fuel-cells car within the next 2-4 years, somebody in this group wrote recently they would need another 8 year to commercialize it, I do not think Daimler Benz would have developed the A-class series if they had to wait another 8 years to introduce the fuel-cells.
