OT Arun, legal immigrants are actually subsidizing illegal immigrants in the school system, so your argument doesn't hold on those grounds.

Just trying to set the facts straight.

Additionally, we turn away PhD engineering candidates (to Australia, Canada, etc.), while we open our arms to illegal immigrants.

Is that dumb or what?

Amy J
PS My neighbor (who has a PhD in Engineering and has been working for 7 years in Silicon Valley) will be moving to Canada when his visa expires this year, even though his company desparately wants him. The USA gave him 7 years of great job experience in Silicon Valley, made him very competitive and now they want to hand him over to Canada (where their govt is VERY eager to take him) Why? Because Canada wants our competitive people, while the US govt doesn't want smart PhD Engineers in this country, only wants uneducated illegal immigrants. Go figure.
---- "America is the land for the uneducated. Not the land for the educated." Everyone in the engineering community knows this: too many of the top A+ engineering students now are going to Canada, Australia, or other places. Why bother with the USA? US govt only wants uneducateed illegals.
