Many words and terms have mulitple definitions. In some cases only one of them may be offically correct within a certain organization or within a certain context, but that doesn't mean the other definitions don't exist or are utterly invalid.

The only folks I see mixing up the terms Special Forces and Special Operations when discussing US Military units just don't know any better.
They are not informed.

In rare cases they are wannabees. I met one yesterday who claimed he was in the US Navy's Nuclear Submarine Special Forces.

OK, thanks. Go ahead, enough on that for me.
My point was to indicate that the Strategy Page writer did not have his terminology correct. IMO that made his opinions and conclusions suspect.
