Hello EP, <<dramatic>>
I am back in Hong Kong.
No, it is not yet Friday August 12 and my scheduled return date.
The Airbus A330 made it to within 70 feet of Shanghai's ground, and then it gunned engines to propel the aluminum tube back to 39,430 feet closer to the sun. The ground-level wind was about 50 miles per hour, from the left, powered by the residue energy of a typhoon.
Today has not been a especially productive day.
I left my bed at 5:45am, home at 6:30, HK airport at 2:30pm, Shanghai airspace at 5:15, and now, back at home, readying to repeat procedure once again when the sun wakes up.
Oh, yes, while at the HK airport I did re-read the entirety of "Fiat Money Inflation in France" by Andrew Dickson White, exchanged some dirty walkaround fiat money in my baggage for some brilliant Canadian bullion coins. They feel good.
Once enscounced on the plane, I toyed with aa few slices of duck, took in a waffer of Valrhona dark chocolate, and napped.
After so many million miles of flying, I, like many, have had a few close calls. Today's experience ranks one of top five in my book.
Question: what is it worth to be able to reset one's financial works when all else fails?
Answer: buy gold now :0)
