alighieri, re:National registry, ban on assault weapons, background checks, uniform laws across the land, loop hole closure... We just had an "assault weapons" ban and it didn't stop a single crime. We already have background checks - so that leaves a registry and uniform laws. I agree we should have uniform laws and a national concealed carry license. The registry I don't see what problem that solves since guns aren't purchased by criminals, they get them from family, friends or they steal them.
