I like your post and agree that USD is a hot potato if someone tries to sell it. Although most people in third world countries and even more advanced countries like Russia still hold most of their savings in mattresses in USD. If USD really breaks down against their home currencies they will be pressed to find something better. I hope some will buy gold.

Are you referring to official news? If not I don't think it's knowable what moves markets short term.
