I've never been to Brazil. What little I know about Brazil has come from a couple of friends (brother and sister) who grew up in Brazil (São Paulo) with a Brazilian father who is a Doctor and an American mother. They like Brazil, but prefer to live in Los Angeles where they are both dentists.

The only additional insight I've had has come from a member of a family of soybean farmers who have moved most of their operations to Brazil. Working for Chevron in the late 1970s and early 1980s I was intrigued by Brazil's move toward sugar based biofuel at the time.

Beyond these limited insights, and the fact that my Spanish would be useless there, I'm completely gullible about almost anything someone tells me about Brazil.
