Are you trying to impress me with how many atrocities were committed by the Japanese during World War II, and how horrible they were? I noticed you pulled this article out of 2003. Was it particularly to make that point?

For the record, I know that the Japanese committed a lot of atrocities. So did American soldiers, however. I think one of the things that keeps the entire planet at war is the erroneous assumption that everyone in some societies is bad or evil or whatever, and then there are some societies (like the U.S.) that are blessed, where soldiers are all men of honour and don't commit atrocities (or it is somehow unpatriotic to mention the fact). I think that kind of patriotism leads to conflict and false thinking, and I don't support it.
