I don't think "irreverent" humor about the plight of animals or Indians is funny, personally. I don't think the plight of animals or Indians is funny, either. The humor at the expense of Indians seems derogatory and racist, and the piece about animals just seems quite insensitive to me. I suspect that only people who cheerfully and willingly eat factory farmed animals, knowing how much they suffer, could find things like this funny, in fact, and this is a group of people for whom I have little respect. Ditto racists.
