CNN reporter's most emotional interview I think of these things as being counterweights to the glorification of war. War is hell, and we should never lose sight of that. And part of the hell is that people die for no good reason, because of human error. I think public pressure can actually improve things. For example, in WWI, generals felt that, unless there were a certain percentage of their own men being killed by artillery fire, that the artillery was not being sufficiently aggressive. We don't tolerate that type of behavior anymore. I am sure the WWI generals would call us cowards and worse.
