I think that anything that doesn't read like AP--who, what, when, etc--should be labled as analysis or commentary. I'm pleased to read that stuff, but I think it's important for writers and publishers to differentiate--as much to keep them honest as to clarify things for the readers. And to try to obviate the kind of unnuanced hostility towards the media that you find on this thread.

I'd like to see an experiment where they produce two articles, one straight news and the other whatever value they choose to add to it. It might be fun to see them publish that way for a week and see what happens.
