The toyota land cruiser is a fine SUV, the others on the list are not even SUV's as I consider the term. None of them have 4wd Low, usually either all wheel drive or 4wd high, either of which is useless offroad, plus they have very low clearance, poor departure angle and some have rather flimsy control arms that would snap upon hitting obstacles. I have been into offroading since 1989, I've seen them all and believe me the finest TOURING type SUV is the Grand Cherokee. Of course the finest production offroad vehicle is the Wrangler. I have both plus an older Cherokee. Incidentally in August Jeep is coming out with a new vehicle called the COMMANDER. It will be the largest SUV jeep has ever made and can be purchased with the 5.7 liter Hemi engine that shuts down 4 cylinders when cruising, thus getting decent gas mileage as well. jdn
