Oil for Food Head Resigns

Looks like with a sufficient application of pressure even the UN can be moved in the right direction:

<<<

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The former head of the scandal-tainted oil-for-food program resigned from the United Nations on Sunday, hours before he is expected to be accused of getting kickbacks from the $67 billion operation.
>>>

In all of human history there is nothing quite as disgusting as the UN's Oil for Food scandal...here was a program designed to help the long-suffering Iraqi people who suffered daily from the depradations of an inhuman tyrant...and the only thing the UN bureaucrats seemed to see was a way to make a quick buck or two; and the French, Russian and German governments also appear to have been hip-deep in it.

Personally, if I were President of the United States I would have withdrawn from the UN over the issue - it is a taint upon American honor to be associated with the UN.

Be that as it may, we have determined to remain in the UN - and thus the need is for a relentless, unending pressure upon the UN to clean up its act and become an organization worthy of decent peoples membership.
