If the Boy Scouts excluded blacks or Jews, would that be OK? Whatever OK means, I guess that as a private organization they have the right to exclude people they don't want.

But if they are a private organization that has the right to exclude certain people from membership, does that mean that we, the people, are obliged to fund them, regardless?

To me, excluding homosexuals is just as objectionable as excluding blacks and Jews.

I understand that others feel differently, but the bottom line here isn't how nice the Boy Scouts are, in general.

Let them exclude homosexuals, and let me not give them any of my tax dollars. Isn't that a fair compromise?
