Peter, welcome to the thread and good post.

Mish has raised this point several times. I hope I'm not putting words in his mouth, but I think there's a strong argument for this point. If individuals debts are inflated away, the banks lose, since the money paid back to the banks will be in less valuable dollars. That's a less likely scenario.
