I think that the better argument against the Boy Scouts is their religious discrimination.

Stuff like that doesn't ping my radar, sorry, not that I think it's unimportant. Thanks for mentioning it. Yes, I agree, the US government should not be funding an organization which discriminates on the basis of religion.

They have every right to discriminate on this basis -- my husband is joining the Masons, and the man who is sponsoring my husband offered to sponsor my sons.

But my older son is Catholic, and Catholics can't join the Masons, and my younger son is agnostic, so the Masons won't allow him to join! And I'd join but they don't allow women (yes, I know about the auxillary, it's not the same thing.)

It is a strange world we live in.
