Oh, come on John! The Republicans make sure that there's a lot of diversity ON THE STAGE at their conventions. If they just had a few elected blacks, people might even believe them. answers.com Checking the list, Republicans used to have ALL the black elected representatives, after the civil war. In the '30's and forties, the situation reversed completely. It's hard to believe that Lincoln was a Republican. I doubt he'd be one today.
