Shanda Networking and PRCDirect Ink Deal for Electronic Program Guide Data Feed Services biz.yahoo.com Monday August 8, 1:59 pm ET PRCDirect Will Provide Chinese Television Program and Media Data Services for the Shanda Home Entertainment system SHANGHAI, China, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Shanda Networking (Nasdaq: SNDA) and PRCDirect, Ltd. have announced the signing of a service agreement between the two companies at the Shanda Home Interactive Entertainment Support Content Partner News Release Conference. Under the agreement, Shanda will use PRCDirect's Electronic Program Guide data feed service to support its new home entertainment center products in China. Shanda's new home entertainment set-top boxes allow gamers to use TV sets to interact with thousands of others and enjoy interactive entertainment content in the comfort of their living rooms. The box will also enable users to search and discover TV programming using data from PRCDirect's data feed services. "PRCDirect is the premier provider of electronic program guide and electronic cinema guide data in China," noted Tianqiao Chen, chief executive officer of Shanda. "In addition to Shanda's corporate support from the PRCDirect data service, my family and I personally enjoy using PRCDirect's complete data feed services as part of our everyday interactive media experience," he added. PRCDirect is the leading provider of EPG (electronic program guide) and ECG (electronic cinema guide) data feed and viewer data services to China's internet, broadcast and communications industries.
