I would bother to make an argument if you would bother to follow one. We've been there before - no use. All smoke, no fire. Yep, we clearly have problems. I don't know why. There are posters here who I simply ignore. And they've become more of a presence on Bill's thread over the past year or so. But you're definitely not one of them. I agree that it hardly seems worthwhile to explore our difficulties. But they are there. One thought. You might wish to explore the kind of Brechtian distancing that Bill and I do. We beat up on one another because we are at clearly different places in the political spectrum. And in a political culture, at least for the moment, that doesn't prize conversation, only manichean us/them sort of conversational projectiles, that's the way politics gets talked about. But we both know that's not all of life. So we keep some distance from the language. At least I do; and I certainly sense Bill does. We can throw out charges and at the same time share FireFox tips, kid one another about this or that, and share tips from reading mysteries.
