I don't expect war to be hygienic. I am saying a couple of things--I might not have expressed them very well.

I was disturbed by the posts here where people justified the nuclear bombings of civilians at Nagasaki and Hiroshima because the Japanese soldiers committed so many atrocities. I don't think there is moral equivalency there.

I am also somewhat disturbed when Americans argue that our boys in uniform are so much more ethical and more pure than the soldiers of other countries. I don't think that kind of patriotic response is a very accurate picture of reality, and I think it allows a lot of Americans to justify war-mongering by the United States, which of course kills a lot of innocent people.

There might be more, but it is hot again, and I don't think so well in the heat.

Is that any clearer? You can still disagree, of course.
